TIGERS by Patricia Hunt

Hunt invites readers to ""Meet the Tiger"": Where it lives, how it marks its territory, how it hunts, courts, grows up, and communicates, whether it really attacks people (fewer than three percent of all tigers are ""maneaters""), and what is being done to preserve it. Hunt covers the subject, but without much style; several passages, in fact, could benefit from a copy editor's attention. And, if you still have copies of Schaller and Selsam's The Tiger (1969), you have the subject covered expertly.
