KIRKUS REVIEW

Set in the London of a hundred years ago is this story of Titus' nearly futile effort to live a productive life in the world of commerce. Titus, just a little boy, yearns to go to sea, but first he must earn a certain sum to pay for damages he has caused in a china shop. Accident follows accident for the hapless Titus until a major catastrophe proves to be a blessing. Not exactly a guide for the aspiring young entrepreneur, but a thoroughly charming and suspenseful story with illustrations washed through with soft light. By the authors of the Tim stories.
