SHANE COMES TO DUBLIN

Young wayfarer Shane, searching for his Uncle Tim, finds shelter with the kindly O'Clery family in Dublin. Where had Uncle Tim disappeared to? The missing uncle appears at a time of crisis for the O'Clerys as their book shop burns and Tim rescues their daughter. This is a turgid tale -- with the ghost of Jonathan Swift reappearing, and the pace makes a dirge of the whole.
