MOMMY AND DADDY ARE DIVORCED

This is one of those photo-stories designed to reflect the feelings and experiences of children in particular problem situations. Whatever good is accomplished by such an undertaking, it does just that--except perhaps that everything looks so nice. The parents are models of enlightened behavior--when he has to break up their happy visit, Dad ""said he understood how angry I was, and he told me that he loved me even though he didn't live with us anymore,"" and later Mom explains that she and Daddy got divorced because ""we made each other sad."" And, recalling Milgram's Brothers Are All the Same (p. 495, J-119), about adoption, the pictures show blooming, well-dressed children (two very small boys) at play in a sunlit backyard. Indoors a pleasant background of books, plants, and pottery extends the consolations of photography.
