NAVAJO PET

Two pets who get along bring together two boys who don't -- but the basis of Luke's hostility toward Danny Long John (his goat enjoys the company of Danny's horse) is as slight as the Navajo setting is superficial. A consequence of the ill-feeling -- conveyed before the fact -- is that Luke is never the 'best-behaved' in school and so doesn't get to empty the wastebasket in a hole in the schoolyard. A bust all around.
