This is first rate reading, although at times the crossings of ill-starred romance and sleuthing come into conflict. The setting is unusual- the League of Nations building in Geneva and a meeting of top ranking narcotic investigation team members of a committee; and the new twist is given by the main suspect being Inspector Tibbell of Scotland Yard, who discovered the murdered committee member, half-suspected of leaking information. It takes some involved manipulations before the Inspector gets the from his own neck and salvages his own marriage in the process. Smooth.
