MAN MAKES HIS WORLD

In this third and final book in the Science for Young Readers series, the author traces the cultural and technical development of Western man. Beginning in the valleys of Mesopotamia, he reveals the contributions made to our culture by the Egyptians, Semites, Greeks and Romans. He traces the development of the organized Church through the middle ages, explores the changes wrought by the Renaissance, and examines the direction taken by the industrial revolution. Concluding chapters deal with ""modern"" scientific discoveries in medicine, agriculture, transportation, manufacture, and communication, and consider the possibilities of future developments.
