This is a semi-sequel to Sea Wind from Hawaii although the Warners, the same family (father, mother, Peter, Patricia and Buttons) may have spent some time on the international date line since the chronology is hard to figure. Now they buy and rebuild a shambles of a boat, provision her, and sail from California to Hawaii and on through the coral islands. Much of this is instructive and descriptive--re catching flying fish or reckoning by Greenwich Time or surfing and skindiving and visiting the natives down there. There's very little real action and the family, while perfectly pleasant, is quite unindividuated. For those who want to know all about padeyes and turnbuckles and ratlines--any other readership will be ketch as ketch can.
