KIRKUS REVIEW

A short, complete and to the point survey of medicine's development from witch doctors to wonder drugs- that should fill a need for a young people's history of the science. An adult text pauses long enough for an intelligent discussion of each famous thinker, each innovation, and though written from a British point of view, the universality of the subject indicates a wide value.
