HORSE IN HER HEART

Carol, the daughter of an Arizona rancher, stubbornly insists on breaking in Skipper, a spirited pony. When a family of French race horse breeders send their daughter to vacation with Carol's family, the two girls become devoted to one another, and when Carol suffers a concussion while riding Skipper, she is packed off to Europe to convalesce with the French family. Here Carol, exposed to different and more rigid values, grows up and accepts her own limitations so that, when she returns home, she is willing to put Skipper in the competent hands of a rancher. Through some adroit maneuvering Patsey Gray manages to combine a story of horses with a detailed travelogue of Paris and its suburbs.
