THE WIND AND ARABELLA

Arabella was a raffia doll, who was prudishly proud because she served a useful purpose in the garden, rather than being a child's pretty plaything. She even resented little Lucy's adoption of her as her own special pet, and resented even more the scarecrow next door. But the wind played tricks -- and Arabella and the scarecrow came into close contact after all, though the romantic ending Emily had imagined did not materialize. A good deal of story -- thin spun- and fragile, but attractive, pictures in pastel shades, by Janice Holland.
