KIRKUS REVIEW

A book designed ""to give you all you need to know to get a place for yourself and your family among the second home set"" is directed to the $68000 a year income bracket currently interested. Mr. Corey discusses sites (the most promising are those controlled by the government--national forests, grasslands, then parks and seashores), getting to know your site by tenting out and possibly building in stages, building the foundation. On to the popular A-frame, the rustic cabin, post and beam construction, the prefab. Then there are the necessities: water, sanitary facilities, utilities, heat. Appendices inform on sources of recreation information, plans available, where to buy prefabs, standard lumber sizes, voltage drops, etc. Basic building material.
