GASES AND PLASMAS

Plasma physics is rather advanced reading for this age group. Maybe there is a chance that anyone eventually interested will have an extremely early aptitude? In that case, this would be a superior historical and technical introduction for the scientifically sophisticated child. The tone is conversational, the writing highly imaginative, tightly organized, and most important, beautifully clear. In all fairness to the author and the reader, this account, which reaches to the frontier of science, is not really just for 12 year olds. It deserves an older audience, too.
