KIRKUS REVIEW

A salvo to the World Champions and their somewhat surprising, if not improbable, victory last year (after their seventh place standing the year before) would indicate now (or vindicate?) that the Bums did not bumble their way up there- but deserved the big win. This is not an exhaustive history of the team (Tom Meany's The Yankee Story- page 182- is) but a quick resume of their troubles since the transfer- with the Coliseum and the noisy demonstration over Chavez Ravine; a recap of some of the more legendary incidents; and an evaluation of the current players and personnel. For Dodger diehards here, and their new West Coast partisans.
