KIRKUS REVIEW

Drab nightclub, dead dancer and an untrusting VIP's niece put adjuster-noticer-investigator Sam Cates of the Home ProtectionInsurance Company in a swivet, with the lice and his own love life, and lead him into the tight circle of blackmail. A previous jewel robbery, high and low life, and Cates noses out the NY police in a musical sale. Fast- but not furious or fancy.
