Good tale, presumably based on factual evidence of the existence of an heir to Napoleon in the person of a son born to a Polish noblewoman (prior to Walewska), who later married the Pole who was engaged to her at the time Napoleon seduced her. Her husband used her equivocal position to play politics, now on the Polish side, now the Russian, and ultimately she turned traitor to him, and told Napoleon what he was doing. Too late -- his machinations contributed to the fall of the man he hated, and finally to her death in the flames of Vilna. Full of contemporary politics, but first rate entertainment, and should tie in with market of So Great A Man and audience for Conquest.
