HOW TO BEAUTIFY YOUR HOME WITH COLOR

A book in the home decoration field, written by a man who advises industries on the use of color, and who here applies his expert knowledge to color in the home. He helps the reader determine his own basic preferences, and goes on from there to show how playing up to these preferences, and learning to use and combine colors properly, will make for better color harmony, better taste, and better results. He discusses cool colors and warm colors, links them to type of paints, floor coverings, wall treatments, upholstery, accessories for accent. He shows how to use nature as a guide. How to play tricks with color (make a large area seem smaller and vice versa). He discusses the practical use of the color keys supplied in the book for selection of what materials go with what. At times he seems didactic, but perhaps-is basic premises accepted- he makes it possible to be more adventurous, with greater degrees of success.
