Every so often an instance occurs of healings, visions and voices which are claimed to be supernatural in origin. Some of these have been validated by the Roman church as truly miraculous. The cases of Lourdes and our Lady of Fatima come immediately to mind. But the case of Theresa Neumann of Konnersreuth in Bavaria has as yet not been validated by the church. This book explains why. Dr. Siwek subjects all the experiences of Theresa to a searching analysis. After examining the purported cases of healing, the stigmata and the visions, the author comes to the conclusion that all these phenomena are amenable to a natural explanation. He advises all to be sautious of premature pronouncements in this case, but rather to follow the official policy of the church, watchful waiting. A thorough examination of the psychological, medical and religious aspects of this puzzling case.
