CHANGING THE SKYLINE by Paul Starrett

CHANGING THE SKYLINE

By

Publisher: Whittlesey

In matter of fact manner, the author, a great New York builder, tells of his early youth, of his apprenticeship in an architect's office, of his entry into construction work, and eventually his rise to owning his own company. Stories of buildings he has constructed (Flatiron, Penn Station, McGraw Hill, Lincoln Memorial in Washington, the Empire State, etc.). This book though interesting, lacks the flavor and east of Horowitz' Towers of New York.
