Making money is fun,"" according to businesswoman Paula Nelson, and even though that may be a little bit of an overstatement, there are some positive aspects to that activity which are hard to ignore. Nelson is addressing herself to the absolute ninny who has always allowed the man in her life to pay all her bills. Who, in fact, doesn't even realize that without a bank account in her own name and a few charge plates to prove her creditability, she couldn't borrow a token for the subway. She recommends getting a banker, a lawyer, a broker, an accountant on your side--then launching into the thick of battle. There's very simple direction for preparing the prospectus for your own business, advice on building a portfolio as well as a special pitch for some riskier, illiquid items--real estate for the ""nest-builder"" and collectibles for those who know their Sandwich glass and Georgian silver. Oversimplified, perhaps, but for the ladies whose Doll's House is beginning to feel cramped, it's a place to start.
