Each summer, the adeleou wears gathered in the lovely French-Canadian village of Ville Masi spend their vacations with Grandmama. To Rosanne and her cousin Collette Ville always spelled fun and excitement, for each year the girls cultivated one them This summer however, 16-year-old Rosanne felt ready for a serious, more and the handsome, flirtations village doctor seemed to fill the bill. Setting her sights firmly on conquest, Rosanne wins Yves for a time, sacrificing Collette's friendship in the bargain. Yet like all of the doctor's summer flings, Rosanne is soon cast aside and forced to endure all the pangs and pain of a broken heart. Grandmama's advice, Collette's loyalty and her own healing powers free Rosanne of this first love and prepare her for a more meaningful experience in the future. An overworked theme, but one that usually keeps Junior Miss reading on to the last page. The portrait of family solidarity among these people is decidedly a unique feature.
