PICCOLINA AND THE EASTER BELIS

the Little One, looks forward to Easter day when all the children of the small stelli village are lifted high in the air by adults as a symbolic inducement to growth during One year. A crowd of passengers aboard Papa's carroza causes him to miss the important ceremony and unhappy Piccolina heads for the countryside where she tells a old miller her tale of woe. What a surprise when the man puts down his heavy load, straightens up to his full height and lifts Piccolina high in the air. A folk-like quality pervades this charming Sicilian tale which portrays the universal longing of all small try.
