I liked this story of the friendship between the American children and ""the water-buffalo children"" and their adventures that maybe grew out of the magic stone. Lovely looking book with pictures in black and white on virtually all of the 60 pages -- by William A. Smith. Pearl Buck does not write down when she tells might-be-true stories from her childhood in China.
