THE GOOD AMERICAN WITCH

Mrs. Manage, the New World's answer to witches, is a fair-minded soul. She expects something of value from each child who demands a wish from her. Mrs. Manage assumes varied guises to different children. To one little girl, the good American witch, Mrs. Manage, grants curls in just the desired color; to a boy she gives the power to be an artist in exchange for faithful daily effort on his behalf. For this reader, they just don't make witches the way they used to. But Peggy Bacon has her fans.
