KIRKUS REVIEW

A frisky variation on the old theme of a pet who proves himself by catching a burglar. The neighbors deplore Aunt Emma's taking in another cat, her ninth--but it is the playful new cat, named Baby Bear, who starts an allergic burglar sneezing that very night. The ACHOOs alert the other cats, who rouse Aunt Emma--and then all nine cats torment the intruder until the police arrive to laugh with Aunt Emma. The pictures inject some zip and humor into Baby Bear's vindication and all the cats' developing response to the crisis.
