KIRKUS REVIEW

The editor, grandson of Zadoc Long, writes the introduction and continues his interpolations throughout his grandfather's 73 year record. The journal is an intimate, personal picture of a New Englander from Buckfield, Maine, who reports interestingly on his part of the country, his family, his business, his responses to local, national and international problems and events. Good local color -- likable sort of diary reading.
