THE BOY JESUS

Christmas shoppers will like Pelagie Doane's familiar art work-the fully rounded and colorful big pictures- as they complement her simply narrated story of Jesus' boyhood. Following St. Luke's version of the gospel, there is Mary's and Joseph's trip to Bethlehem, the shepherds, wine men, the flight to Egypt and on through boyhood to Jesus' visit to the temple. Told with an impressive friendliness and quietude. But the pictures for all their color, are too modern and sweet to really convey the character of the times.
