ANIMALS THROUGH THE CAMERA EYE by Per Hafslund

ANIMALS THROUGH THE CAMERA EYE

By

Publisher: Lyle Stuart

As in Little Wonders of Nature (see p. 535, 1964), Norwegian photographer-zoologist Per Hafslund sets his close-ups of creatures in a pleasantly informative, informal text. He tells of saving tawny owls from destruction, describes how a starfish subdues a muscle, how a cricket hears. Pictures on view include wasps in a hive, the eyes of a common European hare; a grass snake devoured a live frog, a sparrowhawk making a meal of a great tit; the evolution of a cabbage butterfly, the countenance of a common newt larva. Presentation and price are comparable to the earlier book.
