CAVALCADE OF AMERICAN HORSES

Despite its tricky title, this is really an excellent handbook on the history of the horse from the little eehippus, or dawn horse, on down to the refined products of modern breeding. The bulk of the book, is however concentrated on the various breeds now known and raised in this country. The genealogy, points, traits, gaits and other distinguishing marks of such breeds as the Morgan, Tennessee Walking Horse, Palomino, Western Horse, Arabian, etc. are thoroughly covered as are the standards required for each type at the various horse shows. Valuable for the breeder, shower, or mere lover of the equine.
