KIRKUS REVIEW

The author of last year's The River Queen, has gone back to boats again in his new picture story book about a little boy's outing around New York on his grandfather's tugboat. In clear and believable terms, he describes one day's work on the Carol Moran:- a Brazilian freighter is docked, three old barges are given a helping push, and finally, the beautiful Queen Mary is put out to see. Children who like boats will enjoy this river outing and will especially enjoy the vigorous, vivid drawings which have established Peter Burchard as a noted illustrator.
