THE HORSE AND HORSEMAN ANTHOLOGY by Peter-Ed. Vischer

THE HORSE AND HORSEMAN ANTHOLOGY

Peter Vischer edited a magazine which made its first appearance as Polo in 1927, grew to a 41,000 circulation as Horse and Horseman until it became a World War II casualty. The present anthology is drawn from its decade or more of life, includes such prominent horsemen as Santini and Mr. Fitz, sportsmen as Alfred Vanderbilt and Jock Whitney. Articles on the seat, highschool for horses, polo, racing, hunting, coaching, studding, along with the Berlin Olympic games, rodeo, Tattersall's, and the honoring of World War I comrades-in-arms... Perfectly all right, but it's hard to see this except as a memento mori-bund for the carriage trade.
