KIRKUS REVIEW

Pat, Sam and Ezra intercede in the interests of Ma Russell, whose absentee husband has left her in a vulnerable spot, protect her from outlaw Cal Cagle, and then head west to try and secure some stock for her. They langle with her missing spouse, with Cagle, with other outlaws and a tremendous herd of stolen beef, and there's a final injustice and a romance to square away... Not hard to beat- just hard to unseat.
