Fox Basil and his mole friend Harry return in a lame little mystery, when human tennis star Nora Nett goes on tour and asks them to guard her house and her silver trophies. Little Mary from next door, says Miss Nett, will feed the chickens. But the trophies disappear one by one and Basil and Harry bumble along after their own tracks in their dumb attempts to catch the burglar. No matter how many silver trophies are left, Harry laughs as he counts them, and calls them ""dishes for ice cream."" Then it turns out that little Mary has been using the dishes to feed the chickens--and, this being winter, Harry now laughs: ""Oh, silly me. I was wrong. Those silver cups are not just dishes for ice cream. They are dishes for ice for chickens!"" About as funny as a wet hen.
