The author of Arctic Adventure (Farrar & Rinehart, page 372), which has been recommended by the Book-of-the-Month -Club, tells here the story of the Eskimo girl who, once having met Peary, always hoped to be the wife of a white man. Ivalu's story is based somewhat on the life of his own Eskimo wife, her existence during famine, her life with her grandparents, etc., and is told in a simple way, with an excellent picture of Eskimo life for a background, which is certainly authentic.
