KIRKUS REVIEW

A British master, and director and editor of a chess magazine in England, has selected 100 miniature (up to 25 moves) games as they were played in the U.S.S.R. by many of the leading contemporary grandmasters. The games have been grouped according to various phases of attack and counterattack; each game is briefly annotated and the concentration is on tactics. The advanced aficionados will be stimulated by the ""sparkling attacking and combinational play"" these miniatures afford and will be glad to do their homework.
