Second in the New Mexico Artists Series, this portfolio presents some characteristic examples of Peter Hurd's craftsmanship, though not- we feel- his best creative work. Perhaps the selection was made because of the sense of regional values instinctive in the handling of light and distances and background in these eight studies, five of them landscapes, two tempers portraits, one charcoal study for a mural. Beautiful reproductions, 12"" by 16"" mats, appropriate for framing.
