As the title indicates, this book combines pollyanna double-talk with a smattering of medical terminology. The author advises a ""healthy hypochondria"" -- an awareness of illness and a positive belief that it may be corrected. In a number of John Doakes anecdotes the author points out the fatal results of not cooperating with your physician and exposing yourself to diseases and accidents through carelessness and unnecessary mental strain. Helpful suggestions as to the possibility of treatment are mentioned for common diseases -- loars, heart disease, cancer, alcoholism etc. Popular physio-psycho-therapy undistinguished and cursory on both counts.
