SEASONS

A year in and around a hayfield, with particular attention to the seasonal activities of a variety of birds -- the matrix of many a picture book, here blandly described and badly (i.e. coarsely) colored. (This is not to reflect on the actual drawing, which is superior to the production). What it adds up to is no read-aloud potential, little reading pleasure (or profit -- the information is rudimentary). You can do better on both levels.
