KIRKUS REVIEW

This latterday California boasts ""budniks,"" descendants of the Hippies with a mission to put the surf back into the desalinated, ""gelatine"" sea. ""Instant happiness resorts"" are now crowding the once rugged coasts and they're filled with ""glub glub"" people. At least according to the litany of young philosopher Simeon who sits in a swing all day and talks talks talks, much to the discomfort of his girl friend... and the reader who probably won't be around for the holocaust when the sea finally shows its salt.
