KIRKUS REVIEW

Not so much history novelized as a novel which throws a light on history. This book shows us France in the days of Henry the third, with Catherine de Medici in her decline and Henry the fourth lighting for supremacy. Fascinating reading and as entertaining as any of the Alexandre Dumas pere books, by two of the foremost French novelists of today.
