Flora, seeking a solution of her virginity Vera seeking a solution of her spinsterhood -- Karl and Janet hating each other and quarreling over the little dogs --Willis posing as Casanova par excellence -- a coyly in love middle-aged professional couple -- Adam who does not know what to do with the hart who picks him up on the boat -- a mildly saturnine chorus in the shape of the bachelor from Virginia -- the Swede and the Frenchman in the kitchen -- all flung into deliberate intimacy of a Connecticut farmhouse. A good tale.
