CENSORED, THE GOAT

Kurt Wiese picture and a Phil Stong text combine in sure passport to popularity for a story that has a slightly more mature age appeal than Hon, The Moose, etc. Yes, it is slapstick and brash, but it is funny, and there aren't enough funny books. It's the story of a goat that became a Navy mascot, and that eventually was sent home because he made himself such a nuisance. Lots of plays on words, puns, early teen lingo -- and the World War II setting gives it a sense of immediacy.
