In spite of which (for some readers who carry over a liking for fairy tales, because of which) it is a first rate yarn of the days of the Incas in old Peru, of a lad whose father was in , and who escapes the virtual slavery of his own life, to seek a chance to regain the ground his father's misdeeds had lost him. With the aid of a soldier, who becomes his guardian and friend, and through his own innate courage and breeding, he attains his goal. Picture of life in those days has an authentic note.
