THE KNIGHTS AT BAY

An adult writer of historical fiction turns to the juvenile field in a story for boys with the background of a little-known period of Mediterranean history, concerning the Knights of St. John and their gallant defense of Malta against the Turks. For the facts of history, the book deserves recognition. The presentation leaves much to be desired, as it gives no sense of period or background, of authenticity or anything but a superficial knowledge of the incidents. Junior Literary Guild selection for May.
