THE ULTIMATE BREAKFAST COOKBOOK

What does a Hollywood celebrity eat for breakfast? Just about anything, if you car, judge from this eccentric, eclectic compilation of eye-openers from Scully's, the Beverly Hills establishment that offers for the day's first meal not only cranberry muffins, mashed-potato donuts, and scrambled eggs with marigolds, but also a Reuben sandwich, Cajun crab cake, chile relleno, and chocolate chip cookie--not to mention the black velvet, bloody tequila, and other such lubricants for that Coast's creative juices. In a regular breakfast cookbook, all but the first few items might seem mere extraneous padding--but presumably not in that tinsel paradise where days begin and end at any hour and childhood fantasies find fulfillment. Elsewhere, this could attract a following of star-gazers--or win Scully's a morning stop on the foodies' California tour route.
