KIRKUS REVIEW

Every small boy and girl wants a playhouse of some sort or other, even if it is only a board across the boughs of a tree. This story by the author of Hello, the Boat, will strike that kindred chord in young readers, for here is a story of a 10-year old boy and an 8-year old girl who made a playhouse for themselves. The other aspect of the story, the finding of the 5-year old runaway, and the success in keeping him hidden for several days, is less convincing. A book for younger readers than its predecessors, and in my opinion, not so good as either.
