NOBODY LIKES TRINA

Sandy hardly has a chance to become acclimated to her new home in the ""clean New Jersey countryside"" before she's forced to take sides between the ""popular"" girls led by the bratty Melissa and gawky, anti-social Trina Carpozi whom they tease relentlessly. Parents and teachers see Sandy as a potential mediator (a role she might be expected to resent more than she does), but her efforts to bring the girls together over an ecology project fail until Trina wins respect by saving Melissa from a wounded bear. This dramatic resolution is all out of proportion to Sandy's modest peacemaking attempts, and in spite of Trina's fashionable concern for ecology, it's hard to see the forest for all the wooden dialogue.
