Harry Behn immortalized time in verse (All Kinds of Time); Phyllis McGinly domesticates it. From the ubiquitous grandfather clock to the injunction against tardiness to the earth spinning on its axis, it's all familiar and pleasant. Somewhat more inventive are Simple Simon's Song, a happy play on words, and The Voice of the Clock, with its variations on a ticking beat. Not all-time McGinley, but for a quiet time--dependable.
