OPEN THROTTLE: Stories of Railroads and Railroad Men

The stories all deal with railroading--how the roads were built, how they were run, the drama that went into keeping a set schedule in the early days with chancy equipment which could be fatally dangerous. As usual, some of the authors' names are big but they all did well in the big slicks. All ten stories chug home as good entertainment in a popular subject area with the extra endorsement of the top anthologist for the juvenile market.
