KIRKUS REVIEW

An outdoor book of specialized appeal, this nonetheless collects much useful information for campers of every kind, hunters, fishermen, etc. It gives facts about types of craft and their uses, safety disciplines, devices and rules; it discusses paddles and strokes, equipment and its care, loading and trip etiquette; it even goes into racing, war canoes and sailing in canoes. There are appendices, a glossary and a bibliography, and illustrations. A workable reference book in the sport and art of canoeing.
